It’s festival time once more as the New Zealand Embassy follows through what Spring Festival has kicked off earlier this year. The embassy in the Philippines together with the Film Academy of the Philippines present the 2012 New Zealand Film Festival this February. The program for the festivals features top films of the country’s emerging contemporary cinema that won international recognition abroad, completing a strong set of eight feature films and four shorts with three entries from Academy Award nominee Taika Waititi (Taika Cohen for some).
Full-lengths are The Topp Twins: Untouchable Girls (Leanne Pooley), Eagle Vs. Shark (Taika Waititi), Second-Hand Wedding (Paul Murphy), In My Father’s Den (Brad McGann), No. 2 (Toa Fraser), Sione’s Wedding (Chris Graham), Boy (Taika Waititi) and Whale Rider (Niki Caro). For the shorts, they are Tama Tu (Taika Waititi), Coffee & Allah (Sima Urale), Noise Control (Phill Simmonds) and Take 3 (Brad McGann).
The New Zealand Film Festival 2012 will roll-out from February 23 to 28, playing at Shang Cineplex of Shangri-La Plaza in Mandaluyong. The event is open to the public and free of charge. For complete details including showtimes, get the file below.
