Françoise Hardy in Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom (Trailer)

Almost five years after 2007’s The Darjeeling Limited, Wes Anderson teams up with Roman Copolla once again for his new film Moonrise Kingdom. Set on island in New England in the summer of 1965, the film is about two twelve-year olds Sam (Jared Gilman) and Suzy (Kara Hayward) who made an agreement to an adventure of running away into the wilderness. The young lovers entail consequences of their action to their parents and to the town which intensify when it is learned that a storm threatens the safety of the runaways.

Shot on location in Rhode Island back in April to June last year, the trailer shows a signature Wes Anderson style in terms of mood and texture especially with the quirkiness of the dialogues (the cracking lines at the beginning are highly- entertaining) and retrospective music. The song used in the trailer is by French pop chanteuse Françoise Hardy,  “Le Temps De L’amour” from her 1962 debut Tous Les Garçons et les Filles

Moonrise Kingdom is rounded by a powerhouse cast like Wes Anderson regulars Bill Murray,  Jason Schwartzman, Frances Mcdormand, Tilda Swinton and Ed Norton. The film is set to hit theaters May 25, 2012.
