FILM DESCRIPTION:

CHE BELLA GIORNATA
Checco, a guy who works as a bouncer at a nightclub in Brianza, dreams of becoming a policeman, but for a series of funny circumstances, is rejected three times in a year. But thanks to a recommendation of the Archbishop of Milan, he finds himself working as a security officer at the Cathedral. Here, he meets and falls in love with Farah, but he doesn’t know she is in Milan for a very personal vengeance and wants to involve the young, ingenious man in her criminal project. However, she will soon realize that Checco will change her life forever.

DRACULA 3D
The young solicitor Jonathan Harker travels to a remote castle in Transylvania, where he meets the creepy Count Dracula, who keeps him trapped in his mansion. With the help of Professor Van Helsing, Harker will strive to put an end to the Prince of Darkness’s bloody crimes.

CORPO CELESTE
Set deep in the south of Italy, Corpo Celeste is the story of 13 year old Marta who is struggling to resettle after ten years growing up in Switzerland. Bright-eyed and restless, she observes the sights, sounds and smells of the city but feels very much an outsider. Marta is about to undergo the rite of confirmation. In the convention of the Catholic Church she takes catechism but confronts the morality of the local Catholic community. A series of subtle moments trace her journey as she connects and conflicts with her mother, sister and the Sunday school teacher Santa. From experiencing her period to making a bold decision to cut her hair, Marta begins to shape her own life for the first time since moving back to Italy.

HABEMUS PAPAM
The newly elected Pope suffers a panic attack just as he is due to appear on St Peter’s balcony to greet the faithful, who have been patiently awaiting the conclave’s decision. His advisors, unable to convince him he is the right man for the job, seek help from a renowned psychoanalyst (and atheist). But his fear of the responsibility suddenly thrust upon him is one that he must face on his own.

IL CONFORMISTA
At the core of the movie there is a man, Marcello, who, in order to conceal his being different, chooses to act the same as the mob surrounding him, thus becoming a fascist and turning into the killer of his teacher, an anti-fascist professor.

KINATAY
A young man tries to make some money so he can marry his girlfriend. He takes a job for $2,000 and then soon realizes that this job involves killing a woman.

LOLA
Two elderly women bear the consequences of a crime involving their respective grandsons. One is the victim, the other is the suspect. Both weak and poor, they laboriously solicit money in the midst of a storm, one for the victim’s burial, the other for the suspect’s bail bond.

L’ULTIMO IMPERATORE
Immense portrait of almost a century of Chinese history, from the appointment of Pu Yi, a three-year-old child, as Emperor of China, until his death as a plain gardener in Beijing’s botanical garden.

MINE VAGANTI
Tommaso is the youngest son of the Cantones, a large, traditional southern Italian family operating a pasta-making business since the 1960s. On a trip home from Rome, where he studies literature and lives with his boyfriend, Tommaso decides to tell his parents the truth about himself. But when he is finally ready to come out in front of the entire family, his older brother Antonio ruins his plans.

PASSIONE
Singers and songs, musicians and poets, real and legendary characters play the leading role in a movie that walks through Naples, one of the most beautiful, famous and controversial metropolitan cities in the world, one of the very few able to represent an idea of life.

PROFONDO ROSSO
A musician witnesses the murder of a famous psychic, and then teams up with a fiesty reporter to find the killer while evading attempts on their lives by the unseen killer bent on keeping a dark secret buried.

SERBIS
A drama that follows the travails of the Pineda family in the Filipino city of Angeles. Bigamy, unwanted pregnancy, possible incest and bothersome skin irritations are all part of their daily challenges, but the real “star” of the show is an enormous, dilapidated movie theater that doubles as family business and living space. At one time a prestige establishment, the theater now runs porn double bills and serves as a meeting ground for hustlers of every conceivable persuasion. The film captures the sordid, fetid atmosphere, interweaving various family subplots with the comings and goings of customers, thieves and even a runaway goat while enveloping the viewer in a maelstrom of sound, noise and continuous motion.

SUSPIRIA
A young American dancer travels to Europe to join a famous ballet school. She tries to settle in at the school, but hears strange noises and is troubled by bizarre occurrences. She eventually discovers that the school is merely a front for a much more sinister organization.

THE DREAMERS
On the background of the riotous political events leading up to May 1968 in France, three youngsters shut themselves up at home in Paris, where they will explore emotions and eroticism in a crescendo of more and more extreme mind games.

ULTIMO TANGO A PARIGI
An impossible and desperate love story. A heartbreaking cry by the middle-class. A challenge, trickled through cinematic elegance and expertise, to the obliging conventions of the forefathers of cinema.

UNA VITA TRANQUILLA
Rosario Russo hails from Southern Italy. He has a young family and is perfectly integrated in his new home near Frankfurt where he runs a hotel business. He keeps a low profile, has hanged identities and speaks impeccable German. And then one day, his past suddenly comes back to haunt him.

VINCERE
The tragic story of Ida Dalser, who fell for the future Italian Fascist leader, Benito Mussolini, supported him while he was unemployed in the early 1910s, and married him, presumably around 1914. She bore Mussolini a son, Benito Albino, before the outbreak of World War I. The two lost touch during the war years and, upon discovering him again in a hospital during the war, she also discovered Rachele Guidi, who had married Mussolini in the meantime, and a daughter borne to Guidi and Mussolini in 1910.
